You might associate Disney’s Frozen with innocence, magic, and a child-friendly atmosphere, but actress Kristen Bell has disclosed an X-rated innuendo that slipped into the adored film.
If it’s not shocking enough that 2025 is just two months away, consider that Frozen hit the screens over ten years ago.
The cherished Disney musical debuted in 2013, featuring Bell as Anna and Idina Menzel as Elsa, the ice-queen sister.
Upon its release, the movie became a sensation, earning an 89 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, largely due to its catchy soundtrack.
By now, “Let It Go” is a well-known anthem, but Bell highlighted another song during a recent interview with Vanity Fair, released on October 16.
In a TikTok clip, Bell watches her character Anna run through the animated castle singing “For the First Time in Forever”.
She joins in with Anna’s lyrics: “For years I’ve roamed these empty halls / Why have a ballroom with no balls?”
On the surface, it seems innocent enough, but Bell clarified that the writers had a more suggestive intention with the lyrics.
With Anna and Elsa being the sole residents of the castle at the time, there truly were no “balls” of any kind.
Reflecting on the song’s double meaning, Bell told Vanity Fair: “How did we get that joke in there? Come on.”
“We slid it under the radar,” she added. “It almost didn’t make it in. But then we were like, ‘What are you talking about? That’s not what it means. Don’t be a perv’.”

It appears that the subtlety and persuasive tactics worked, as people have been singing those lyrics for years without a second thought.
Putting explicit jokes aside, Bell expressed that she had ‘always dreamed’ of participating in a Disney animation, saying: “They’re so formidable in your life when you’re young and I was obsessed with them.
“I remember sitting in my living room and on my little old boombox, like, recording myself singing ‘The Little Mermaid’ in case I ever needed that tape.”
Bell shared her excitement about joining Frozen, noting that she helped shape Anna into a character she “really needed to see when [she] was 11 years old”.
“I want her to wake up with drool in her mouth. I want her to snore. I want her to talk too much and too fast and wear her heart on her sleeve and trip over things,” Bell explained.
“The real quirk for a girl who is lovable but not as put together, and thankfully this whole experience was really collaborative. Some of those things they wrote in, and others they didn’t and they let me kind of take the reins.”
Frozen 3 is confirmed for a 2027 release, though the cast details remain under wraps.
