Chappell Roan demands apology from photographer after ‘disrespectful’ encounter

Chappell Roan found herself in yet another confrontation with a photographer during a red carpet event.

In September, at the VMAs, Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, engaged in a heated argument when she was reportedly told to “shut the f**k up” by someone at the event.

“No, you shut the f**k up,” Roan retorted at the photographer.

“No. Not me, b***h,” she added.

Many praised the 26-year-old for defending herself.

Addressing the incident, Roan confessed that the red carpet can be ‘quite overwhelming and quite scary’.

“I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

“You don’t get to yell at me like that,” added the ‘HOT TO GO!’ singer.

Recently, Roan faced another encounter with a photographer on the red carpet at Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour premiere in Los Angeles on October 25.

While posing for pictures, Roan identified a photographer and called them out.

Approaching the person, she reminded them of their ‘disrespectful’ behavior towards her at the Grammys.

“You yelled at me at the Grammys party,” Roan said, describing their actions as ‘rude’.

“I deserve an apology for that,” the artist insisted, but the photographer seemed unwilling to comply.

When a team member guided Roan back for more photos, she informed the photographer that she would not pose for them.

Roan’s actions have sparked mixed reactions; some praised the ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ singer for confronting the photographer’s behavior, while others were less supportive.

Jameela Jamil, however, supported Roan. She commented on an Instagram video of the incident: “Everyone s****ing on her for this. But we applaud men when they literally slap photographers!

“We need to make a decision whether we like or don’t like celebrities setting boundaries. But it can’t be one rule for men and another for women. In 2024.”

On Twitter, Roan was celebrated as an ‘icon’.

Another user expressed: “Chappell Roan is definitely an icon.”

Additionally, someone remarked: “Standing up for herself and looking iconic while doing it.”
