Jennifer Lopez responds to Ben Affleck’s three-word comment about her during divorce

Jennifer Lopez has subtly responded after her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, praised her in a recent comment.

Both Lopez and Affleck are collaborating on the same film, a project that was likely in the works when they were still together, as their current relationship status is far from amicable.

Lopez filed for divorce at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in August, citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’ Not long after, it was reported that Affleck did not make an appearance at Lopez’s star-studded 55th birthday celebration.

Despite their separation, the duo has been working on “Unstoppable,” a sports drama inspired by a true story. The film has led to an exchange of indirect remarks between them.

Affleck, alongside Matt Damon, serves as a producer on the film featuring an ensemble cast including Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Don Cheadle, and Lopez herself.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Monday (November 4), Affleck expressed his admiration for the talented artists involved in the project.

He stated: “Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and, you know, Don Cheadle and Jharrel and Bobby Cannavale – all of whom were really passionate about this film and then got to know Anthony and Judy, and the relationship with them, and the passion they had to bring this story to life.”

“Again, it kind of speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we’re drawn to which is, we really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply, emotionally connected to the story.”

Affleck concluded with a specific compliment: “Jennifer is spectacular.”

Jennifer Lopez’s reaction was somewhat reserved when she was informed of Affleck’s remarks during the UK premiere of “Unstoppable.” She simply said “thank you” before being asked to describe Affleck’s producing skills.

Lopez replied: “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.”

In an interview last month with comedian Nikki Glaser, Lopez shared her candid thoughts about her marriage to Affleck, likening its end to a house explosion.

“You’re standing there in the rubble going, ‘How do I not ever let that happen again?’ And then you start examining it little by little saying, ‘OK, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have seen early on, this is what I didn’t look at.’ Those things are what really are the lessons,” she explained.

Meanwhile, her 52-year-old ex-husband, Affleck, has mostly refrained from discussing their personal matters publicly.
