Kim Kardashian shares insights on the ‘difficult aspects of motherhood’ in heartfelt social media message

Kim Kardashian has shared her thoughts on what she considers the ‘sad part about motherhood’ through social media.

The SKIMS founder is a mother to four children with her ex-husband Kanye West, also known as ‘Ye’. They have two daughters, North West, aged 11, and Chicago, aged 6, along with two sons, Saint, who is 8, and Psalm, who is 5.

Kardashian frequently posts about her life with her kids on social media, often highlighting their achievements like North’s performance in the Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, and showcasing their hobbies and talents.

However, she has been candid about the difficulties of motherhood. In an episode of The Kardashians, she discussed the challenges she faces as a ‘single parent’.

She remarked: “I think I’m still learning how to be a single parent and I just did the Jay Shetty podcast where I spoke about parenting and, I mean I should be used to it now, but everyone had a lot to say.”

The reality TV star mentioned that her challenges were ‘nothing to do with the amount of help I have’, stating: “It takes a village to raise kids, but at the end of the day, your kids only want you.”

Recently, Kim shared a quote that seemed to encapsulate her feelings, resonating with many mothers worldwide.

She posted to her Instagram Stories: “The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can’t live without… to be able to live without you.”

Though she didn’t specify the reason for the post, it was shared two weeks after reports surfaced alleging that West was frequently ‘not being around’ for their children. A source told PEOPLE that Kardashian is ‘pretty much a single mom’.

The source revealed: “Kanye is sadly not around very much. She’s pretty much a single mom.

“Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything.”

Kardashian and West tied the knot in 2014 after starting their relationship in 2012 and had their first child, North, in June 2013.

Their son, Saint, joined the family in 2015, followed by Chicago and Psalm, who were both born via surrogate.

Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021, and the divorce was finalized in 2022.

According to court documents, the couple agreed to share joint custody of their four children, as reported by The Guardian.

As part of the settlement, Ye will pay Kardashian $200,000 monthly in child support, in addition to covering 50 percent of their children’s educational and security expenses.

Post-divorce, Kardashian dated comedian Pete Davidson, though they have since parted ways, while West ‘married’ Bianca Censori.
