Friends uncovered astonishing find after paying $962 for abandoned storage unit at mystery auction

A group of friends took a chance at an auction, spending $962 on an abandoned storage unit, and ended up discovering some unexpected treasures.

Spending such a substantial amount without knowing what you’re getting is a significant risk, but it paid off well for this group.

In a 2019 video posted on the What The Hales YouTube channel, the friends managed to secure the winning bid for the unit.

Upon opening the unit, they discovered a ‘beautiful’ snow blower. However, this was not the only valuable item inside. Hidden behind it was something far more valuable.

They uncovered a bright orange Dodge Charger. The hood was open, revealing a Hemi V8 powerplant engine, which is no longer in production.

The Charger also featured a stock manual transmission and an ‘immaculate’ interior.

As experienced thrifters, the YouTubers found a remarkable deal, as it was the last unit up for auction that day. Many other bidders had either left or exhausted their budgets by then.

Upon discovering the car inside, the friends were understandably surprised by their find.

However, their excitement turned to disappointment when they realized they couldn’t keep the valuable car.

“Everything in the unit is split amongst us, except for the car,” stated one of the friends in the video.

This was because the car had a lien on it, requiring it to be handed over to any party still owed money for it in case of abandonment.

Nevertheless, the friends stumbled upon another remarkable find behind the car — a Harley Davidson motorcycle, dusty but in excellent condition.

The vintage bike had only 150 miles on it, and they speculated it was from the 1950s or 1960s. They also found a Triumph motorcycle, believed to be quite valuable.

Elsewhere in the unit, they discovered a car lift, which they estimated could sell for $2,000. Additionally, they found film cameras and a large auto shop sign.

Viewers were astonished by the group’s incredible luck. One enthusiastic viewer commented: “Wow what a unit! Nice car and not one, but two motorcycles!”

Another subscriber proclaimed: “Fantastic unit.”

“Awesome find,” added another.
