Kanye West recently took to his social media platforms to claim that his wife Bianca Censori drew more attention on the Grammys red carpet than the actual award winners.
On Sunday (February 2), the musician and his 30-year-old wife gained global attention with their appearance at the Grammys. The event became particularly noteworthy due to Censori’s bold fashion choice.
West, sporting an all-black ensemble and sunglasses, was seen whispering to Censori, who then turned away from photographers and slowly unveiled a transparent mesh dress beneath her black fur coat.
There were soon reports on social media suggesting the couple had been ‘kicked out’ of the awards, though it was later clarified that they chose to leave.
West has since shared insights into his reasoning behind the spectacle through a post on Instagram.
The post included three images: two screenshots from Google Trends and one photo of Censori posing at home, possibly practicing for the event.
One of the Google Trends screenshots revealed that ‘Bianca Censori Grammys’ was searched more frequently than ‘Grammy winners 2025’.
Another screenshot from Google Trends showed US internet users searching about his wife more than ‘Beyoncé Grammys’, ‘Kendrick Lamar Grammys’, ‘Benson Boone’, ‘Chappell Roan’, and ‘Doechii’ combined.
Fans reacted critically, with comments such as, “Is she a social experiment to you?” and “U got daughters bruv.” Others expressed concern, with one user stating, “This ain’t smtg to be proud of unc.”
A source close to West told The Sun on Sunday that he intended to use the Grammys to celebrate ‘art’ through Censori.
“People have called this a stunt but to Ye this is his art,” the source stated.
“He turned up, made headlines around the world and left. No one told him what to do and even if they had, he wouldn’t have listened.
“Ye always planned to do the red carpet and leave – he’d never sit through the Grammys because it’s so dull and boring.”
The source described Censori as a ‘muse’ for West, emphasizing that “there’s no coercion involved. This is what Ye does, he makes a statement and the whole world talks about it.”
