Noah Cyrus Expresses Support for Father Billy Ray During Family Drama

Noah Cyrus has recently joined the conversation surrounding the ongoing Cyrus family dispute involving their father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

To provide some context, the Cyrus family is currently experiencing some internal conflicts.

The situation began when Billy Ray Cyrus, the father of six famous children including Grammy-winner Miley Cyrus, performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s performance was met with some criticism, and his adopted son, Trace Cyrus, shared a heartfelt Instagram post expressing the family’s concerns about Billy Ray’s mental well-being.

Trace suggested that Billy Ray had a distant relationship with his younger sister, Noah, by stating she “deserves better.”

“Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though,” his post read in part.

Within a week, Trace alleged that Billy Ray had threatened him with legal action over the Instagram post.

In light of the situation, the Cyrus family seems to be rallying around the 63-year-old singer, with Noah being the most recent to express her support.

Noah, 25, took to her Instagram Stories on February 7 to promote Billy Ray’s new single, “Lost,” as reported by PEOPLE.

Alongside a snippet of the song, she wrote: “So proud of my Dads INCREDIBLE new single LOST with my good, old friend @samtinnesz and @tommeeprofitt.”

Her support follows Braison Cyrus’s recent comments regarding the family drama, in which he mentioned collaborating on new music with their father.

“I don’t have any bad feelings towards anyone in my family,” the 30-year-old told PEOPLE.

“I’ve spent this past year getting to know my dad better than I ever have,” he continued. “I’ve heard stories, jokes and songs that I don’t think anyone else has.

“It’s an opportunity to tell my dad’s story through music and I’m fortunate to be able to take it. Music, stories and family are the most important things to my dad, so to bring the two together is a full circle endeavor.”

Meanwhile, Billy Ray celebrated Miley’s recent Grammy win for best country duo/group performance for her duet with Beyoncé on “II Most Wanted” on February 2.

“Congratulations @mileycyrus and @beyonce on their well-deserved @recordingacademy Grammy wins!” he wrote on Instagram, adding that he “couldn’t be prouder!!!”

Last year, Miley garnered attention at the Grammys when her father was notably absent from her acceptance speech for Record of the Year. This year, she attended the ceremony with her boyfriend Maxx Morando and her mother, Tish, and ‘liked’ her father’s Instagram post.

Trace has since emphasized that his critical letter came from a place of concern, urging his father to seek help while celebrating his own 18-month milestone of sobriety from alcohol.

Part of his message read: “We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew and hoping for the day he returns. You’re not healthy Dad and everyone is noticing it.”

Billy Ray’s ex-wife, Firerose, also seemingly echoed these concerns to Page Six, stating it is “very sad” to see “those same struggles.”

Furthermore, the 35-year-old Metro Station star called it a “disgrace” that Billy Ray threatened him with legal action and expressed that he should be “ashamed.”

“I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel,” he continued. “I’m not. Get help.”
