Pete Davidson shares rare insight into current relationship with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson has been a notable figure in the comedy world, but recently he has spoken out about the ongoing public scrutiny of his personal life despite his career achievements.

Whenever Davidson is involved romantically with someone from Hollywood, numerous articles and social media posts tend to emerge.

This isn’t exactly the legacy the comedian hopes to leave behind.

In an interview with Page Six, Davidson discussed his past relationships and the constant public attention they attract.

He also shared how he and Ariana Grande currently interact, following their brief engagement in 2018 that lasted four months.

Grande has continued to maintain her presence in the entertainment industry, most notably receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie Wicked.

Davidson remarked, “When we see each other—which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles—it’s all love.”

He added his genuine support for her career by saying, “I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.”

The comedian expressed that the public’s intense interest in his relationships with other celebrities has been both ‘humiliating and upsetting.’

He stated, “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women and when it’s ended it’s been cool.”

He continued, “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood.”

“But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

Davidson reflected on the desire for his professional work to be the focus, saying, “You want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating.”

He also shared mixed emotions about how he’s been portrayed online.

He found it both embarrassing and flattering when he was labeled as the embodiment of BDE, an acronym for big d*** energy.

He explained, “I’m a very sensitive person and it’s humiliating to see a picture of yourself eating a sandwich in a pink T-shirt with the headline ‘This is what BDE is.’”

Nonetheless, he felt comfortable and content posing for an ad for Reformation, a women’s clothing brand.

He humorously noted, “If you’re going to be in underwear showing your mushrooms, you might as well get it out of the way before you turn 40.”

Looking ahead, the 32-year-old shared his intention to refrain from dating for the next six months and focused on making positive life changes, such as staying away from drugs and social media.

He concluded, “If I need to know something, my friends will tell me.”
