Haley Joel Osment breaks silence following shocking bodycam footage of arrest for multiple offenses

Haley Joel Osment has released a statement following an incident that led to his arrest at a ski resort.

Osment, recognized for his roles in movies such as The Sixth Sense, Pay it Forward, Forrest Gump, and recently in Blink Twice, was apprehended by authorities at a ski lodge in Mammoth Lakes, California.

The Office of the District Attorney County of Mono provided details in a statement, saying: “District Attorney David Anderson announced that Haley Joel Osment, 37, was charged today with two misdemeanors arising from his arrest by the Mammoth Lakes Police Department at Mammoth Mountain on April 8, 2025.

“Specifically, Mr. Osment was charged with a violation of Penal Code Section 647(f) – Disorderly Conduct: Under the Influence of Alcohol in Public, and Health and Safety Code Section 11350(a) – Possession of Cocaine.”

In a video capturing the arrest, Osment can be heard declaring: “I’m not fighting you.”

Another video from inside the police vehicle shows him claiming he was being ‘kidnapped by a f**king Nazi.’

In a statement given to PEOPLE, Osment addressed his behavior, acknowledging that his words were ‘disgraceful’ and expressing regret over his conduct.

“I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior,” Osment stated. “Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”

He continued: “The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place. But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me.

“I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”

During the arrest, Osment was searched by officers, and a $20 bill with a suspected substance was reportedly found. A source from law enforcement informed PEOPLE that the ‘controlled substance’ believed to be in Osment’s possession ‘is presumed to be cocaine.’

“We sent it for testing. We will have the results soon,” the source mentioned.

Earlier this year, Osment’s home was destroyed in the catastrophic wildfires that swept across California.

Emily Osment, the actor’s sister, shared an Instagram post stating: “It’s been an extremely difficult month. Thank you to everyone that has reached out to my family in the wake of the fires. Devastated for my mother my father and my brother who lost their homes in the Altadena fire.

“Community is everything and I know I’m heavily leaning on mine right now-and that’s okay! So much love for my beautiful, aching city. We will rebuild. We are so strong, even stronger than we could ever imagine.

“Please find some time to donate and show up and be there for those who are struggling right now. We’re all doing our best and that really is enough.”
