Miley Cyrus recently made a lighthearted remark about being “Niley for life” as she reminisced about her past romance with Nick Jonas. Having been in the limelight for a significant period, audiences have watched Miley’s relationship journeys unfold in the public eye.
On June 6, during an appearance on the Every Single Album podcast, Miley shared some memories of her relationship with one of her first famous boyfriends, Nick Jonas.
Reflecting on her past mindset, she commented: “I probably was like … ‘Nick Jonas dumped me, he’s a dick.’ But they were like, ‘We can say he’s not a very nice boy.'”
She continued, humorously admitting, “But I was probably like, ‘He’s an a******.’”
Discussing her current perspective on Nick Jonas, Miley clarified that her feelings have evolved over the years. They have both moved forward in their personal lives, yet she still holds him in high regard.
She stated: “I like Nick. I’m into him. Everything is good in the world. Niley for life.”
Miley playfully noted that despite the passage of time, both Nick and her former spouse Liam Hemsworth continue to be the subject of her fans’ playful jabs.
Their relationship, which began in 2006, is indeed a thing of the past, lasting roughly a year and a half.
Back in 2008, shortly after their breakup, Miley opened up about her initial reaction to their split.
In an interview with Seventeen, she shared: “At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black. When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great.”
She went on to say, “And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core. I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, I’ve got to be by myself for now, and just figure out who I really am.”
Reflecting on her journey since the breakup, she concluded, “Since [the breakup], I’ve realized that I’ve met so many great guys, but I like being the girl nobody can have.”
