Tammy Slaton has become a well-known figure in the reality TV world, although her appearance has changed significantly after an astounding weight loss journey.
Since 2020, Tammy, alongside her sister Amy, has been sharing their experiences on the TLC reality TV show 1000-Lb Sisters, showcasing their path to weight loss.
Originally, the sisters had a combined weight exceeding 1000 lbs, with Tammy reaching a peak of 725 pounds, necessitating the use of an oxygen tube to assist her breathing.
At 38 years old, Tammy has undergone surgery after losing 500 pounds over the past few years.
TLC released a startling new video of Tammy’s skin-removal surgery, where an additional 15 pounds were removed, enhancing her appearance.
The 30-minute video captures her family’s emotional preparation for the surgery.
Under sedation, the surgeon details the removal of excess skin from her face, neck, arms, and stomach.
The procedure focused on skin removal, not fat, and the amount removed could cover an area of three square feet, according to her surgeon.

“It’s going to take me a while to get used to seeing myself like this,” she confessed post-recovery.
Tammy’s journey to losing weight has been challenging, battling food addiction, attending multiple rehab sessions, and enduring personal loss with the passing of her husband, Caleb Willingham, in 2023 at the age of 40.
Despite these challenges, Tammy lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery, which she underwent in July 2022.
In a conversation with the Ezell Film Company, Tammy revealed she’s lost approximately 540 pounds from her heaviest, describing it as shedding ‘three whole versions’ of herself.
“I see pictures of me now and I think, ‘wow,’” she remarked.
Following her skin removal procedure, Tammy expressed to People that she feels better than ever, despite her pre-surgery anxiety.
“The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified,” she shared with the publication.
“I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they’re actually cutting the whole belly!”
