The Osbourne family has captured the attention of their fans, particularly noting one of Sharon Osbourne’s accessories during Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral. The farewell for the legendary Black Sabbath frontman took place in Birmingham, England, on July 30, following his passing on July 22 at the age of 76.
Sharon, accompanied by their children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, attended the event, which featured a public procession witnessed by hundreds of admirers. The family appeared visibly moved as they arrived at the Black Sabbath bench, a place adorned with tributes to Ozzy, and they collectively raised their hands in a peace sign to honor their beloved family member.
As the event unfolded, observant fans took to social media to discuss the small yet meaningful details they noticed the Osbourne family incorporated into the day, specifically focusing on a necklace Sharon wore.
In photographs, a prominent gold ring is seen hanging from Sharon’s necklace, which fans speculated to be Ozzy’s wedding ring. One admirer wrote, “Sharon Osbourne wearing Ozzy’s wedding ring in a chain around her neck while mourning him, we love you Shaz.”
Another fan provided additional context on the accessory, commenting, “Yeah, this is the ring they got for their wedding renewal in 2017. He used to wear both this and the original wedding band from when they got married in 1982.”
“Seeing Sharon wear Ozzy’s ring on a necklace… completely wrecked me,” expressed another.
The couple’s history began in 1970 when Sharon met Ozzy through her father, who was managing his band at the time. Their relationship grew closer in 1979 when Sharon took on the role of Ozzy’s manager for his solo career.
They began dating and tied the knot in 1982, eventually having three children together. Although they briefly separated in 2016, Ozzy later confirmed that their relationship was “back on track” within a few months.
In 2017, the couple renewed their wedding vows. During the event, Ozzy expressed to Hello! magazine that it felt like their “real wedding day,” stating, “This is the one that I will remember. Sharon and I have been through so much, and this honestly feels like a new beginning.”
At the funeral, Sharon placed flowers next to a poster of Ozzy, with each family member holding a pink rose wrapped in black paper and tied with a purple ribbon. Sharon kissed her flower before laying it down as a tribute to her late husband.
