Donald Trump has strategically positioned nuclear submarines in response to remarks made by Russia’s former president.
In light of Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine and its purported nuclear threat, the President of the United States has heightened threats against Russia. This escalation includes disclosing that US nuclear submarines have been moved to strategic locations.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump stated: “Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.
“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This declaration follows a series of intense exchanges between Trump and Medvedev, especially after the POTUS announced that Russia had ’10 days’ to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine or face financial sanctions via tariffs.
In reaction, Medvedev, who served as Russia’s Prime Minister from 2012 to 2020, accused Trump of engaging in a ‘game of ultimatums’.
He tweeted: “Trump’s playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10.”
Medvedev then advised the POTUS to ‘remember two things’, stating: “1. Russia isn’t Israel or even Iran.
“2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war.
“Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down the Sleepy Joe road!”
