Justin Timberlake delivers powerful five-word message following revelation of Lyme disease diagnosis

Justin Timberlake has recently updated his fans following his announcement about battling Lyme disease.

On July 31, the artist took to social media after finishing his two-year music tour to make this unexpected revelation.

He described the tour as a ‘fun, emotional, gratifying, physically demanding, and, at times, grueling experience’ that he had put his heart and soul into.

Timberlake explained that although he usually keeps his personal life private, he felt it was important to share with his supporters ‘a little bit about what’s going on with me’.

“Among other things, I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease — which I don’t say so you feel bad for me –– but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes,” he revealed.

He continued: “When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.

“I was faced with a personal decision. Stop touring? Or, keep going and figure it out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.”

After his whirlwind tour, Timberlake is now taking some much-needed rest and recently shared a photo on his Instagram Story.

In the picture, the singer is seen sticking his tongue out and making two peace signs while wearing a sweatshirt that reads ‘I’m not doing sh*t today’.

The sweatshirt also features ‘mission accomplished’ and a ticked checkbox. Timberlake added three green tick emojis to the caption.

This update comes after the star returned home just hours before. His wife of 13 years, Jessica Biel, posted a photo of Timberlake with his team beside a private jet on the tarmac.

“So happy they’re home,” Biel, known for her role in The Better Sister, wrote alongside a red heart.

For Father’s Day in June, Biel expressed her admiration for Timberlake in a heartfelt post.

“Happy Father’s Day to my spectacular husband who is one incredible dad,” she wrote, adding: “And to all the other dads out there doing their thing. Leading with humility and vulnerability. Showin up with understanding and compassion, and always using humor to get through the hard stuff. Major respect and love to all y’all.”

The couple has two sons, 10-year-old Silas and four-year-old Phineas.
