Heart Attack Confirmed as Cause of Death for Ozzy Osbourne, Certificate Reveals

Ozzy Osbourne’s death has been officially attributed to a heart attack triggered by coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s, according to his death certificate.

The iconic heavy metal figure, often referred to as the ‘Prince of Darkness,’ died at his residence near Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire, England. He was with family members and surrounded by love at the time of his passing.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance arrived at the scene in response to a call about an incident. Despite efforts to provide ‘advanced critical care,’ Osbourne, aged 76, could not be revived.

The announcement of his death was made through a statement on his official account on X, previously known as Twitter.

The statement reads: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease six years before his death, a neurological condition that can impact movement, cognitive functions, and behavior.

Despite his health challenges, the singer managed to reunite with his former Black Sabbath bandmates for a farewell performance just weeks before his passing.

This concert, reportedly raising £140 million for charity, took place at Villa Park in Aston, Osbourne’s hometown. It featured performances from other major acts such as Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.

During his performance in front of 42,000 fans, Osbourne expressed: “You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Since his passing, Black Sabbath members have paid tribute to Osbourne, with co-founder Tony Iommi expressing that they had ‘lost [their] brother’.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today program following Osbourne’s death, Iommi shared: “He loved what he did, he loved music, he loved playing together, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity of getting together again to do the [farewell] show.”

“It was brilliant being with all the guys again, and the atmosphere, and it was brilliant for Ozzy because he really wanted to do that, he felt at home there and it was good for all of us.”

More details will be provided as they become available.
