Viewers recommend Netflix subscribers check out ‘underrated’ sci-fi series boasting flawless RT rating and three binge-worthy seasons

Subscribers to Netflix are encouraged to check out a sci-fi series that is described as ‘underrated’ and has achieved a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The streaming giant is well-known for its extensive library of outstanding films and television series. However, if you are in search of a show that might not have received the attention it deserves, consider exploring a series that premiered on Netflix in 2016.

Travelers stars a number of well-known actors, with Eric McCormack, famed for his role as Will Truman in NBC’s Will & Grace, in the lead.

The cast also includes Jared Abrahamson from The Penguin, Nesta Cooper from See, and country music artist MacKenzie Porter.

Set far in the future, the storyline revolves around the last remnants of humanity who have discovered a technique to transport consciousness back in time, specifically into individuals living in the 21st century.

These ‘travelers’ take over the lives of apparently random people, all while clandestinely working in teams on missions to prevent a ‘terrible future’ from occurring, as described in the show’s synopsis.

The group includes an FBI agent, a single mother, and a college student, leveraging their historical knowledge and a repository of social media accounts to aid their missions.

The second season of Travelers was released in 2017, followed by a third and final season in 2018. Remarkably, the series continues to hold a perfect 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show garnered attention in an online discussion when a user on Reddit posed the question: “Sometimes I stumble upon a show I have never heard of before and end up loving it way more than I expected. I am curious if anyone else has had this experience. What is the most underrated show you have discovered on Netflix that more people should watch?”

“Ugh… I still think about the Travelers concept. Brilliant… just brilliant. I wish there were at least 2 more seasons,” one viewer remarked. Another added: “Such a fun and interesting concept of a show. I’m glad it ended the way it did, but it was too soon.”

Critics in the entertainment industry have praised the series. The New York Times’ review of the first season noted: “It’s hard to find a fresh take on the time-travel conceit, since it’s been around so long and has been so heavily mined lately, but Travelers has some attention-grabbing flourishes and fine acting.”

Similarly, the Sydney Morning Herald commented: “The series’ mix of seasoned sci-fi directors and relatively new writers gives it a suitable blend of freshness and assurance, and watching even a single episode gives some sense of just how much there is to be teased out. Intriguing stuff.”
