Noah Cyrus Opens Up About Long-Standing Family Feud Rumors

Noah Cyrus, known for her Grammy-nominated work and as the sister of Miley Cyrus, has addressed rumors about a potential family feud. These speculations arose following the divorce of their parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.

In 2022, Billy Ray and Tish ended their marriage. Subsequently, Billy Ray had a brief marriage with singer Firerose, while Tish tied the knot with Dominic Purcell, known for his role in Prison Break.

The separation led to rumors of discord within the family, particularly when fans noticed Miley was absent from Billy Ray’s wedding to Firerose but attended Tish’s wedding to Purcell.

Miley did not mention her father in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech, choosing instead to express gratitude towards her mother, her sister Brandi, and her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

Now, Noah Cyrus has spoken about the speculation surrounding her family, telling People that she tries to maintain a distance from such matters.

“I keep myself quite separated from any interest or ‘drama’ with the family,” Noah stated. “The one thing that’s connected us with the entire world is music, and that’s what’s the most important to us.”

She further added, “Yeah, it emotionally is draining, but it doesn’t hurt us or touch us. It’s something that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself.”

Noah emphasized that the family is doing well, saying that ‘everybody’s great and loves each other’.

Highlighting the family’s resilience despite public scrutiny, she continued: “I think when you grow up with that being normal — things being public — that it doesn’t quite reach you. At the end of the day, this is a family, and that’s really it: just going through normal family stuff.”

Noah’s recent album, ‘I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me’, includes family references, with one lyric stating: “The words that were spoken / Mean nothing to me.”

“I think that really sums up a relationship with a sibling,” she explained. “There’s so many times, especially in my relationship with my siblings growing up, you fight and you say things — but that’s your family, and they’re always going to be there for you, and I’m lucky enough to say that that’s been my case with me and my siblings and my family.”

Additionally, the album incorporates a sample of a hymn written by her great-grandfather and sung by her paternal grandfather. Another track features the first song her dad Billy Ray ever wrote.

“It really was beautiful to have that bloodline [running] through the record,” Noah remarked.
