Woman Shares ChatGPT Strategy to Secure Five Job Interviews Weekly and a Job in Just 30 Days

A woman has shared how she utilized ChatGPT to secure an overwhelming number of job interviews, to the point where she “couldn’t keep track.” While there is often concern about AI potentially replacing human jobs, this technology might actually assist in navigating the job market.

Despite some employers cautioning against the use of AI in job applications, this individual has employed it to simplify the typically tedious application process. Her innovative use of AI in conjunction with her interview strategy has garnered attention.

She detailed her successful method in the r/Interview subreddit. Following her job loss in the spring, she engaged in a month-long job search before receiving an offer and signing a contract.

This rapid success is particularly impressive given the current economic climate.

She submitted applications to 80 positions and conducted four to five interviews weekly. Her strategy involved a $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus subscription to optimize her job search.

“I only applied to jobs that were posted within the last 24 hours, no exceptions,” she wrote. She avoided positions requiring account creation or video submissions during applications and disregarded jobs without listed salary ranges.

Additionally, she used ChatGPT to craft “tailored resumes” based on each job’s description.

“I asked ChatGPT to create role-specific interview questions and a cheat sheet in PDF form for printing,” she added, listing examples like, “Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work for this company? Questions for recruiter, STAR interview questions, my ‘wins.'”

Her method also dismissed complex application processes: “If the job required more than three rounds, I politely declined,” she stated.

In her current role in healthcare tech within client success, she underwent a two-hour video interview with the GM and hiring manager and a 30-minute phone interview with the recruiter.

She acknowledged, “I am aware that this is not the case for most jobs. You can decide what works best for your situation.”

Her most vital step, she claims, was asking ChatGPT to draft a mock offer letter to “manifest” her desired job. This letter included the start date, pay rate, hiring manager’s name, and was signed and dated on the day of her interview. Remarkably, the official offer closely resembled her draft.

While not everyone agreed with the idea of manifesting a job offer letter, others appreciated the insights shared.

Elsewhere, she mentioned dedicating up to five hours daily to job hunting, applying to eight to ten positions each time.

For those entering the job market, her approach might provide valuable guidance.
