Pro wrestler breaks silence after brutal attack by ex-UFC fighter’s son

The professional wrestler who was knocked unconscious by the son of a former UFC fighter during a choreographed match has spoken out about the incident.

Raja Jackson, son of former UFC champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, entered the ring while Syko Stu, whose real name is Stuart Smith, was in a planned bout with another wrestler.

Once inside the ring, the 25-year-old lifted the 38-year-old high and slammed him to the ground before delivering over 20 bare-knuckle punches to his head while Smith lay motionless.

Douglas Mallow, the wrestler who intervened to stop the brutal attack at a Los Angeles KnokX Pro Wrestling event, explained that he had to head-butt Jackson after being punched in the eye while trying to defuse the situation.

Smith’s family has taken to Instagram to express their gratitude to his fans for their support, including a message signed by the wrestler himself.

“Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting,” the message stated.

“He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.

“He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through.”

The statement further mentioned: “We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. With love and respect, Contessa Patterson & Stuart Smith (aka SykoStu).”

Regarding the motive behind the assault, which the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating, a video on social media might provide some context.

The footage shows the former U.S. Army veteran striking Jackson with an object that resembles a can, causing liquid to spray upon impact.

Raja was reportedly instructed to give Smith ‘his receipt’ (wrestling jargon for retribution) and was heard stating in his livestream: “As long as I get my lick back, I’m straight. They told me to hit him and just leave, someone will pull me off of him and we’ll leave. I’m telling you I’m gonna hit him as many times as I can, watch.”

LADbible Group has contacted Raja Jackson’s representatives for comment.
