Cardi B has put an end to fan speculations by announcing that she is expecting her fourth child.
Fans have been speculating for weeks that the rapper might be expecting once again.
The 32-year-old has had a hectic schedule, particularly with her second studio album, ‘Am I the Drama?’, set to release this Friday (September 19). In addition to her music, she has been dealing with legal matters after a security guard accused her of assault.
Cardi gained attention online for her courthouse appearances, where she showcased different wigs daily and made straightforward and candid comments.
The incident occurred in 2018 outside an obstetrician’s office when the singer was pregnant, though she kept it a secret from the public at that time.
Cardi claimed that the bodyguard, Emani Ellis, recorded her on a phone during a verbal altercation.
However, Ellis filed a lawsuit for alleged assault, battery, and emotional distress.
A jury eventually cleared Cardi of the charges, which she celebrated by stating: “I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”
Observant fans noticed her walking carefully down the Los Angeles County Superior Court steps, aided by her bodyguard, while wearing loose clothing.
Now, Cardi has confirmed the rumors on CBS Mornings, announcing that she is indeed pregnant with her fourth child.
When asked by anchor Gayle King about the rumors, Cardi responded with a smile: “Well yes… I am having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.”
This will be the first child for the 31-year-old NFL player and the ‘Bodak Yellow’ artist. They went public with their relationship last October after Cardi finalized her divorce with Offset, with whom she shares three children.
“I’m excited. I’m happy,” Cardi continued. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work—but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
“Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other,” Cardi said of their relationship. “We’re like in the same space in our careers… We’re never, like, comfortable. We just have to keep going it and that’s just what we are.”
As for why she delayed the announcement, the ‘WAP’ singer expressed that she wanted to do it on her own terms and wanted to resolve her court issues first.
“I just was like, ‘Can I just say it on my own time?’ Like, I’m not hiding,” she explained. “Let me close some deals first, you know what I’m saying?”
Cardi has also been busy promoting her new album, making appearances in major cities across the US for fan meet-and-greets while preparing for her first-ever arena tour scheduled for February next year.
“By the way, now that I talked about it, y’all better get my album,” Cardi playfully urged, referencing her ongoing social media efforts to encourage fans to purchase physical copies of the album.
“Now y’all can buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff. I told y’all, now go support my album ’cause I’m a mother of four now!”
