Cardi B’s partner, Stefon Diggs, remains entangled in a legal dispute over the paternity of a child shortly after it was revealed that he and the ‘Bodak Yellow’ artist are expecting a child together.
Although Cardi B is not directly involved, Diggs is currently in a legal battle concerning the paternity of a child belonging to social media influencer Aileen Lopera.
The situation is somewhat complex, but the core issue is that Lopera alleges Diggs is the father of her child.
Diggs, on the other hand, disputes this claim, stating that he is ‘not certain’ of his paternity, as indicated by court documents made available to The Sun US.
These documents reveal that Lopera has filed a petition requesting a paternity test to definitively resolve the matter.
Tamar Arminak, the attorney representing Lopera in this ongoing case, has expressed optimism that Diggs will eventually ‘acknowledge’ that the child, a baby girl, is his.
In a statement to The US Sun, Arminak said: “My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”
Last week, Cardi announced her pregnancy during an appearance on CBS Mornings, stating: “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.”
Discussing her feelings, Cardi B expressed: “I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work — but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
Stefon Diggs’ management has been contacted for comment.
Stefon Diggs and Cardi B have been romantically linked since approximately October 2024.
This news follows Cardi’s announcement of her impending divorce from fellow rapper Offset.
During an Instagram Live session, Cardi confirmed the split, stating: “I have been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid… not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world.”
Later, on Twitter, Cardi posted: “[Offset] you a b***h ass n**** and trust me imma f**king take it there.”
In a subsequent post, she added: “Mother f**ker will try you when you are at your lowest and your most vulnerable time. You out here feeling yourself but trust me tables turn.”
During an earlier interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Cardi admitted that she ‘never would’ve thought’ she and Offset would marry.
“We’re very different from each other. Yin and yang for real,” she stated. “But one thing that we like both love, we both love family. We are each other’s support system.
“I know that he backs me up a hundred percent and I back him up a hundred percent.”
