Kristen Bell recently shared a candid reflection on her past sex life before she married.
The actress, known for her role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is married to comedian Dax Shepard. The couple wed in October 2013 after six years together, having first met in 2007 and getting engaged in 2009.
They have two children, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10. Despite their long and happy marriage, Bell opened up about some feelings of regret.
During a discussion on her husband’s podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, she was mentioned by Shepard in a conversation with co-host Monica Padman and guest Justine Lupe. He said, “Kristen is a little regretful, she was very active – she was very sexually active and she wishes she was even more sexually active.”
This comment referred to Bell’s sexual experiences in her 20s. When asked to rate her activity on a scale where zero meant ‘virgin’ and ten equated to ‘sex worker,’ Bell rated herself a four. She admitted she wished she had been closer to a six, with Shepard questioning her preference for a higher number.
This isn’t the first time Bell and Shepard have been open about their intimate life, sometimes to the embarrassment of their children. Previously, on an episode featuring Drew Barrymore, they addressed Hollywood rumors suggesting they were swingers hosting parties.
Shepard clarified these rumors, noting that even friends joked about not receiving invites to these alleged parties, despite knowing they weren’t real. The couple found the rumors amusing.
Earlier this summer, Shepard shared a playful photo of Bell doing a nude handstand, wearing only blue knee-high socks, in their garden. The image, with sensitive parts censored, was posted to celebrate Bell’s 2025 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in the comedy series, Nobody Wants This.
Shepard captioned the image, “People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s. This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”
Despite the nomination, Bell did not win, with the award going to Jean Smart for her role in Hacks.
