Jennifer Lopez shares candid thoughts on love life amidst Ben Affleck separation rumors

Jennifer Lopez is certainly known for her candid discussions about love, and her recent remarks are certainly attention-grabbing.

Recently, while promoting her film “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” the 56-year-old Lopez joined The Howard Stern Show. During the interview, she opened up about her previous relationships in a refreshingly open manner.

This year has been intense for the pop sensation. She finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck in January 2025 and has since dedicated herself to her work, both producing and starring in the Broadway adaptation of the film with co-stars Tonatiuh and Diego Luna. Directed by Bill Condon, the movie is considered one of her most daring roles.

Despite her professional focus, Lopez’s candid remarks on Howard Stern’s program show she’s willing to be honest about her past relationships.

As reported by People, when asked by Stern if she ever keeps tabs on old flames, Lopez chuckled and said: “Once I’m done, you’re dead to me.” She quickly added, “I’m going to get in trouble!”

For those familiar with J-Lo, such behavior is typical: humorous, direct, and with just enough edge. She later elaborated that she does not completely sever ties, clarifying: “Not dead to me — but definitely, it’s over, I’m going to move on.”

These remarks came shortly after she attracted attention for halting Today Show host Craig Melvin when he referenced her divorce in a live segment. When Melvin mentioned her separation from Affleck, Lopez interjected, “There you go! Look at this guy!”

Despite the tense exchange, Lopez praised her former spouse, acknowledging: “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made.” She expressed that the project helped her through a particularly challenging time.

Lopez is clearly focused on self-care and moving forward. In her conversation with Stern, she discussed living a more private life, noting: “I live my life very out loud… even though I’m in the public eye. And I wanted to share my life with someone. I want someone to be there to share my big important moments on the red carpet.”

Currently, she aims to maintain a quieter personal life, stating: “I just want to keep that part so much more quiet in my life.”
