Amy Schumer Responds to Allegations of Removing Past Instagram Pictures Due to Weight Loss

Amy Schumer has addressed the rumors that she removed old Instagram photos due to weight loss.

The well-known comedian has often shared glimpses of her personal life, and on November 11, she decided to remove her previous Instagram posts, stating it was ‘for no reason’.

In her post, she wrote: “I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud? I’m feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!”

This action led to speculation that the deletions were linked to her losing weight since the earlier images on her account.

However, Schumer responded to these assumptions, asserting that she has always appreciated her appearance. She also took this opportunity to discuss her health challenges, such as dealing with endometriosis.

She wrote: “Hey media outlets I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight. That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.

“I have been working to be pain free and I finally am. My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal.

“I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son.”

Schumer further commented that social media doesn’t reflect reality entirely and is often a selective portrayal of one’s life.

She expressed: “But your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that. I didn’t purposely go on a ‘weight loss journey’ that’s a fine thing to go on.”

She also noted that her weight is likely to change over time, but her main concern remains her health.

She added: “But my focus has been on health,” she wrote. “I’m sure my weight will always fluctuate. I’m a perimenopausal woman on hrt meds.”

Schumer wrapped up her message with: “Wishing you strength and self love on whatever path you’re on as long as it’s kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight race or religion peace!”

Throughout her career, Schumer has been vocal about addressing women’s health issues.

In a previously deleted post, she emphasized: “I want so much for women to love themselves and be relentless when fighting for their own health in a system that usually doesn’t believe them.”
