A Brazilian influencer known for her dedication to fitness has tragically passed away at age 39 after reportedly falling from her apartment building.
On November 13, Diana Areas, a nutritionist and bodybuilding expert, was discovered deceased outside the Unique Towers condominium located in the Parque Tamandaré area of Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil.
Areas, who frequently provided her 200,000 Instagram followers with workout routines and healthy eating advice, had been hospitalized earlier that day. However, she chose to leave the hospital against the medical staff’s guidance.
Fans of Areas have been mourning her loss, expressing their condolences in the comments section of her Instagram posts following the news of her alleged fall from the building’s top floor.
Reports indicate that she was located in the communal space of the residence after her partner contacted authorities.
Before her untimely death, Areas was evaluated at Ferreira Machado Hospital around 6.30 am, where medical personnel noted she had cuts on her wrists and neck, according to a hospital spokesperson.
She was described as being in ‘moderate condition’ and received medical treatment, including stitches and a tetanus shot, but reportedly left the hospital around 10.30 am before an official discharge.
Her remains were transported to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in Campos dos Goytacazes at 12.30 pm, only hours after her departure from the hospital.
The Civil Police of Campos dos Goytacazes have now opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
On Instagram, a significant outpouring of grief has emerged, with her followers, friends, and acquaintances leaving heartfelt messages.
“Rest in peace my friend. May you calm your soul down there with our father. Sorry we couldn’t help you,” expressed one individual in Portuguese.
Another person commented: “I can’t believe you’re gone. Rest in peace beautiful.”
“May God comfort all the family and friends and may her soul rest in peace,” added another. “Still can’t believe it!!!!”
“I can’t believe it! My condolences to all the family,” wrote another user.
A colleague of Areas also shared: “It is with a deeply saddened heart that I bid farewell to dear Diana – friend and co-worker for so many years.
“A beautiful woman inside and out, a brilliant, dedicated, loving professional who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of interacting with her.”
The Civil Police of Campos dos Goytacazes have been contacted for further comments regarding the investigation.
