Meghan Trainor addresses weight loss criticism and explains her choice to use Mounjaro

Meghan Trainor has addressed remarks concerning her weight loss following a wave of online criticism.

Being a celebrity often means facing scrutiny from people online, which is an intrinsic part of fame.

However, situations can escalate negatively when individuals start making derogatory comments about someone’s looks.

Singer Meghan Trainor has now addressed this issue, highlighting that the negative feedback she has faced recently has been particularly distressing.

This follows the 31-year-old star’s revelation of losing 60 pounds, which she attributed to using the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro.

Earlier this year, Trainor shared on Instagram: “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy, and I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

In an interview with Extra, Trainor expressed: “Like, all my comments were just evil, attacking me.

“I started posting pictures of myself recently, just like I always did.

“But for some reason a flame went off, and everyone got mad. Just like, ‘Ew, I don’t recognize you, you’re just a walking nose.’ Just crazy stuff, like mean.”

During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, she reflected on these harsh comments: “The world’s getting crazier and meaner and they’re louder, and I’m like: ‘Is it ’cause they’re getting louder or is it ’cause I’m getting worse?’ And I’m not.

“I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level, and I’ve never felt better, and I look incredible, I feel great and that’s when people attack me? I was like: ‘What?’”

Despite the online criticism, Trainor emphasized that she ‘feels great’ and is at her ‘healthiest’.

She revealed her desire to improve her health after having two children, and she has been pursuing this journey alongside her husband, child actor Daryl Sabara.

Trainor explained: “I had to learn what food was healthy for me and what was good for my digestion. I thought I was eating healthy for a while, and I learned that I had leaky gut and IBS and all these symptoms.

“I was like, ‘This is exhausting. I was physically fit, but I can’t gain muscle what’s going on?’”

The singer admitted that the hurtful comments affected her deeply, bringing her to tears and leading to discussions with her therapist.

“I cried so much. They got to me, and my therapist was like, ‘You give them too much power. I wish I didn’t.’ So, I’m trying to learn at 31 not to give strangers power. It feels silly,” she said.

In another discussion with Entertainment Tonight, Trainor remarked: “I’m taking care of myself. I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”
