JoJo Siwa fans deeply concerned after boyfriend claims he’s ‘single’ on TV program

JoJo Siwa’s followers were left in a state of confusion after her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, mentioned he was ‘single’ during a TV appearance.

The friendship between Siwa and Hughes blossomed during their time on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.

Post-show, the ‘Karma’ singer and her partner Kath Ebbs revealed they had parted ways following a split at the Celebrity Big Brother afterparty, with both providing their perspectives on the breakup.

The bond between Siwa and Hughes, which began as a ‘platonic’ friendship on this season’s CBB, eventually evolved into a romantic relationship.

“It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” the Dance Moms star told The Guardian in June.

Since then, both have been introduced to each other’s families, and Siwa has even started supporting her boyfriend’s football team, Sunderland.

Despite their apparent closeness, Hughes sparked confusion among fans by claiming he was ‘single’ during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef.

“So, I live on my own. I’ve been single for three years, so it’s not like I’m cooking for anyone,” the Love Island star remarked. “If I’m just cooking for myself, no one can appreciate it, apart from me.

“It’s quite sad really, isn’t it? I need someone there to show off to in the kitchen, I’ve got the judges.”

Concerned fans took to social media to express their confusion, with one user writing on X: “How long ago was this filmed? Chris had been with JoJo for ages and he says he’s single?”

The BBC clarified that the series was filmed earlier this year, likely before Siwa and Hughes began their relationship on CBB.

Fans’ concerns were put to rest when Siwa posted a series of photos with Hughes on her Instagram Stories on Thursday (November 27) to celebrate their six-month anniversary.

“Wouldn’t trade one day for anything,” she captioned the images.

Siwa has previously shared how Hughes made a positive impression on her family earlier this year. On Sunday Brunch, she mentioned that her parents ‘think the absolute world of him’.

“And him and my Dad are like best friends, Chris was actually telling me this yesterday, they went to the spa together yesterday,” she added.

“They’re literally best friends, Mom Siwa, she absolutely adores him. I love watching her watch us, because I’ve never seen my mom so happy, and it’s… it’s… I could cry.

“Honestly, it makes me happy to have everybody act as… it feels like we’re a family, it feels like he’s been in my family for however many years it feels like forever.”
