On December 31, Siwa engaged her 46 million TikTok followers with a post where she lip-synced to a song featuring the lyrics: “I don’t really care about what they say, I’mma come back like a boomerang.”
She captioned the video with: “What a year it is ahead [love heart emoji].”
This update comes as Siwa continues to provide glimpses into her life with Love Island alum Chris Hughes, whom she became acquainted with during their time on Celebrity Big Brother the previous year.
On December 28, Siwa uploaded a TikTok reflecting on the year she met Hughes, calling it ‘beautiful’ and noting: “Couldn’t count all the highs if you asked me to.”
With the new year underway, the Dance Moms alum seems to be embracing the ‘new year, new me’ mantra by updating her TikTok bio name.
Previously listed as JoJo Siwa, the bio now features the name ‘Joelle Siwa’.
Joelle is Siwa’s full first name, potentially hinting at her intention to ‘come back like a boomerang’, as she mentioned in her New Year’s Eve post.
This unexpected name change left fans buzzing, with many expressing their anticipation for what ‘Joelle’ might unveil in the future.

Siwa’s decision to change her name follows her 2025 announcement about altering her sexual identity. Previously identifying as a lesbian, she elaborated to E! News in June: “I think the most beautiful term now is queer. I think queer is an umbrella of, ‘Look, I’m just me.’ And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love is love. And that goes both ways.”
In regards to her relationship with Hughes, she expressed: “I feel so in the right position for myself. I feel so content with my happiness… What I realized with Christopher is I never have second guessed my feelings for him. Therefore, I’ve never second guessed my happiness, I’ve never second guessed what I’m feeling. And I think that’s the most beautiful thing.
