Donald Trump has shared Melania Trump’s thoughts on his dancing, which he has showcased during various public events over the years.

Despite the serious nature of being the US president, Trump often lightened the atmosphere by dancing during public gatherings and campaign events, usually to the song ‘Y.M.C.A.’ by the Village People.

One memorable moment occurred in Pennsylvania in October 2024, where Trump danced on stage for an impressive 39 minutes.

Trump talked about Melania’s views on his dancing while addressing Republicans at the recently renamed Kennedy Center on January 6.

In a surprising twist, he started by mimicking what he imagines to be a female weightlifter’s performance compared to a trans athlete.

After concluding that unusual impression, Trump digressed by saying, “By the way, my wife hates when I do this. She said — you know, she’s a very classy person. She said, ‘It’s so unpresidential.’ I said, ‘But I did become president.’ She hates when I dance.”

He then recounted a conversation with Melania, in which she asked him, ‘could you imagine FDR dancing?’, to which he replied, “There’s a long history that perhaps she doesn’t know. Because he was an elegant fellow. Even as a Democrat, right? He was. The attack by Japan. You know, he was quite elegant.”

Raising his hands above his head, Trump noted, “But he wouldn’t be doing this. But nor would too many others.”

Trump continued, saying, “But she says, ‘Darling, please. The weight lifting is terrible. Now I have to say this — the dancing, they really like. She said, ‘They don’t like it, they’re just being nice to you.’ I said, ‘That’s not right. The place goes crazy. They’re screaming, ‘Dance, please!'”
