Margaret Cho recently recounted an unfortunate experience where she had to deal with a sudden bout of diarrhea while performing on stage in a white outfit. The comedian shared this embarrassing moment on the podcast *How to Fail With Elizabeth Day*, explaining how she lost control of her bowels in front of the audience.
The 57-year-old comedian admitted to feeling ‘disgusted’ with herself after the incident, which occurred after she began taking an unspecified weight loss pill. These pills were supposed to remove fat from food, but instead caused an oily substance to form, similar to ‘pepperoni grease that you blot on top of a pizza.’
Cho was in the midst of delivering a successful comedy routine while wearing an all-white ensemble when the pills decided to take effect. As she captivated the audience, the diet pills had a different plan in store.
She described the awkward situation: “It was starting to come out because it was all oil. It was just grease because it was fat. I started spurting orange grease out of my a**hole.”
Despite the embarrassing mishap, Cho managed to finish her set while the substance continued to leak. She recalled: “I ended the show while the s**t [was] coming out. I got a standing ovation, they wanted an encore, [and] all I could do was back out of view through the curtains.”
Luckily, there was no one backstage, allowing her to avoid exposing the aftermath to the audience. However, the situation only became more unpleasant after the curtain dropped.
Cho then ‘squatted on the ground’ to relieve the cramping as the audience continued to cheer. After expelling the ‘orange oil’ from her system, she quickly exited the venue, worried about the mess left behind.
Recalling the event, the *30 Rock* star shared how she fled the scene in her car while the crowd called for more. Unfortunately, the incident left a lasting mark, as the orange oil stained the front seat of her car, leading her to eventually replace it entirely.
Despite the initial embarrassment and disgust, Cho has since found humor in the situation and taken a valuable lesson from the ordeal: she has sworn off weight loss pills for good.
