Even though Stranger Things has wrapped up, Joe Keery, who played Steve Harrington, is continuing to achieve success. His single ‘End of Beginning’ has climbed to the top of the UK singles chart.
This track, initially launched in 2022, has risen to the number one position this week, largely driven by the enthusiasm of fans from the popular Netflix series.
Released under the artist name ‘Djo’, it first reached Number 4 in the charts during 2024. However, as the finale of Stranger Things garnered more viewers, TikTok edits featuring Keery’s song have elevated its popularity.
Other songs like Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’, Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, and The Police’s ‘Every Breath You Take‘, all part of the show’s soundtrack, are likewise in this week’s top 20.
Despite not being featured in the show, Keery’s track has resonated with fans, thanks to its captivating sound which aligns seamlessly with the Stranger Things atmosphere, complete with an engaging synth sound.
Beyond his iconic role as Steve Harrington in the series, Keery is flourishing in his music career under the name Djo. To date, he has released three albums: ‘Twenty Twenty’, ‘Decide’, and ‘The Crux.’
Keery discussed the song in a conversation with NME last year, stating: “I’m not trying to live in the past. I have new memories that I’m linking to [Chicago]. I’m not 27 anymore. That’s a part of me, maybe, but not the whole part.”
The journey of Stranger Things concluded after five thrilling seasons on January 1, marking nearly a decade of captivating fans. Although no new episodes or a sequel are planned, a spin-off is currently in progress.

In a discussion with Variety, Matt Duffer revealed that a detail fans may have overlooked will be crucial in the upcoming spin-off, centered around the mysterious rock discovered by Henry Creel.
When questioned about its importance, Matt remarked: “I’m gonna be sketchy here, Kate, because I will say that is — can I say this, Ross? Because it’s just hard to not say it.”
” (It’s) spinoffy, yeah. You pinned us down. So annoying. I do want to explain, just because people’s expectations go in certain directions.
“The spinoff is going to delve into that and explain that, and you’re going to understand it. But it’s a completely different mythology. So it’s not a deep exploration of the Mind Flayer or anything like that. It’s very fresh and very new, but yes, it will answer some of the loose threads that are remaining.”
