Jennifer Lawrence discloses the director’s note that made her ‘want to harm his dog’

In a recent interview, Jennifer Lawrence opened up about her experiences in both her professional and personal life, sharing a story about a director that particularly annoyed her.

Although Lawrence is often remembered for her iconic role in the Hunger Games series, she has firmly established herself in Hollywood with a range of other projects.

During a conversation with Josh Horowitz, the actress discussed her career and shared some personal stories.

One memorable question she answered was about her preference between cats and dogs.

The 35-year-old actress revealed that she no longer has any dogs, as she decided to give them to her parents after an unsettling incident where one of them bit her young son.

With a hint of humor, Lawrence remarked: “After I had a kid, my dogs become so scary.

“It’s almost like I don’t recognize dogs right now. Like, I just see them as a threat. One of them bit my son and that made just want to obliterate every dog. I was just like, ‘I’m gonna take you out, you and your f***ing family and your f***ing friends’.”

Lawrence recalled this protective attitude when Horowitz asked her about the ‘worst note a director has ever given you’.

Reflecting on her experience, the Die My Love actress remembered working on a scene where she was attempting a subtle expression, but the director wanted to emphasize it, which frustrated her.

She explained: “I didn’t respond well… I was doing something very subtle once and the director saw that I was doing it and asked me to… he was like ‘that is great, now reach out and’. He just wanted to explore the subtle thing and that just made me want to just… kill his dog.”

Although Lawrence’s comments were made in a playful manner, they sparked some criticism, particularly concerning her decision to rehome her dogs with her parents.

One social media user reacted: “I have twins and my dogs are family FOREVER. We are a pack together. A home full of love, respect, loyalty and time dedicated to all. DO BETTER JENNIFER.”

Another added: “What’s especially concerning is using a massive platform not only to normalize giving up a dog after a preventable incident, but to publicly speak so flippantly about obliterating dogs.”

However, others defended Lawrence.

One individual commented: “As a professional dog trainer and nonprofit dog shelter founder, this comment section isn’t it. If she felt her dogs were unsafe around children, we should not be judging a mother and a decision she made for the safety of her children.”

Another person noted: “I love dogs [but] we see so many stories about dogs ‘losing it’ and biting the children of the family. I will not take that risk.”

Jennifer Lawrence’s representatives have been contacted for a response.
