Golden Globes Glambot director discloses true events with Jennifer Lopez following ‘rude’ incident accusation

The director of the Golden Globes Glambot, Cole Walliser, has responded to his viral interaction with Jennifer Lopez after some online users labeled the actress as ‘rude.’

The Golden Globes event occurred on January 12, featuring Cole Walliser and his team operating the renowned Glambot, as seen at many high-profile awards shows.

During the event, Walliser shared videos featuring celebrities such as Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, Hudson Williams from Heated Rivalry, and Blackpink’s Lisa.

Walliser typically enjoys pleasant exchanges with the celebrities he films, often exchanging greetings, handshakes, or even hugs with those he has previously encountered. However, it seemed that JLo’s interaction was notably cooler compared to others.

Jennifer Lopez’s Glambot clip has amassed over 35,000,000 views on TikTok, with many viewers commenting that her demeanor appeared ‘rude’ towards Walliser.

One comment read: “She didn’t even speak to him!!!!!”

Another questioned: “No smile? No hello? NOTHING?!”

Conversely, some defended JLo, suggesting she was simply in a hurry and that she did acknowledge Walliser, though it wasn’t clearly captured on video.

Amidst the online discussions, Walliser himself has offered clarity on the situation, providing additional context for their brief encounter.

In a video posted to his social media on January 18, Walliser shared that he frequently receives inquiries about the ‘worst’ Glambots and who might have been the most unkind or indifferent towards him.

Reflecting on the Glambot experience with Lopez, he explained: “There was only one other person outside that conversation with JLo and that person was me.”

“I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment,” Walliser continued. “I think there’s a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she’s just down to business. The carpet was closed. She’s ready to go inside.

“She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position. It’s just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me.

“So, I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she’s getting ready for the move. In the moment, I’m not like, ‘Hey, turn around and look.’ I knew what she was doing.”

Further in the video, he elaborates on the nature of red carpet events and the Glambot’s role.

Is this tea or just me talking about work??

Walliser explained: “The first thing to know about Glambots is that Glambots are completely elective. Nobody’s forcing you to do these things.

“If you want to do it, you can. If you’re in a bad attitude and don’t want to do it, you don’t have to do it.

“Anyone who stops, I already liked you because you’re taking the time to do my thing and this is generous of you.”

He also noted that red carpets are ‘so insane’, with celebrities being asked to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

Walliser’s third insight was that at gatherings like the Golden Globes, celebrities are essentially working and fulfilling their professional responsibilities.

Lopez’s representatives have been approached for comment.
