David Beckham has voiced that his children are ‘allowed to make mistakes’ following notable remarks made by Brooklyn Beckham on Monday, January 19.
In a surprising Instagram post, the 26-year-old expressed that he had been ‘silent for years’ and had consistently attempted to keep the family dispute ‘private’.
Brooklyn brought forward several accusations against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, asserting that they ‘tried endlessly to ruin his relationship’.
Following Brooklyn’s statement from last night, David Beckham participated in an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, which was released today, January 20.
In the interview, he stated: “I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media…for the good and for the bad. What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous.”
He continued: “But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.”
He elaborated: “I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for UNICEF. And it has been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”
The former soccer star mentioned: “And I have tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.”
“They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids.”
He concluded: “You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
It is still uncertain whether the interview was conducted before Brooklyn’s Instagram revelation.
More updates to come.
