Kid Rock’s performance at Turning Point USA’s alternate Super Bowl halftime show has been described as ‘sad’ for a specific reason.
On February 8, Bad Bunny headlined the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Puerto Rican artist Benito Antonio MartÃnez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, made a mark in NFL history as the first male solo Latin performer for the halftime event.
However, Bad Bunny’s performance faced criticism from Donald Trump and Charlie Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA. In response, they organized an alternative halftime show.
The alternate event featured performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, streamed on YouTube.
While Erika Kirk, the new CEO of Turning Point and widow of Charlie Kirk, praised the show as ‘incredible,’ other viewers expressed disappointment, particularly accusing Kid Rock of lip-syncing.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, took the stage at the alternate halftime show to perform two songs: his 1999 track ‘Bawitdaba’ and a cover of Cody Johnson’s ‘Til You Can’t’.
Some viewers believed they noticed that Kid Rock’s mouth movements didn’t align with the lyrics they heard.
Many quickly took to X to voice their observations.
One user commented: “It sure looked like Kid Rock relied on a pre-recorded track for his ‘All-American Halftime Performance.'”
Another user remarked: “I zoomed in and centered Kid Rock’s TPUSA alternative halftime performance so you can see what a great job he did lip synching.”

Someone else wrote: “That was the worst lip sync I’ve ever seen. Wow that was sad.”
Another viewer added: “The fact the whole Bad Bunny performance was powerful,…Kid Rock can’t even lip sync to his own song. One song.”
Lastly, a fifth user concluded: “The *American* halftime show had a real wedding. The couple invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, and instead, he invited them to get married on stage during his performance, and that is their actual celebration.
“Meanwhile, the TPUSA Epstein show had Kid Rock doing bad lip sync. Such an insane contrast. A wholesome display of love and unity and family versus a bunch of bitter people angry that the rest of the country isn’t as hateful as they are.”
