Barack Obama explains what he truly meant by calling aliens ‘real’ following public uproar

Is there extraterrestrial life beyond Earth? Former President Barack Obama has addressed the topic, providing some intriguing insights.

Obama made headlines by suggesting that aliens might indeed be ‘real’.

He discussed the topic in an interview with Brian Tyler Cohen, who pointedly asked: “Are aliens real?”

Obama responded: “Uh, they’re real, but I haven’t seen them.”

He also addressed speculations surrounding Area 51, the enigmatic military site in Nevada often linked with UFO and alien theories.

Obama clarified: “And they’re not being kept in uh, what is it? Area 51!” He further added, “There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”

When asked what his first query was upon becoming President, Obama humorously replied: “Where are the aliens?”

His statements fueled discussions, with many interpreting them as confirmation of extraterrestrial life.

Obama later explained his remarks, made during a playful “speed round” interview, saying that while he believes life exists beyond Earth, the vast interstellar distances make it unlikely that aliens have visited us.

In an Instagram post accompanying the viral interview clip, Obama elaborated: “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify. Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

While we may not be expecting extraterrestrial visitors any time soon, the enormity of the universe certainly leaves much to ponder. Thanks to Obama for keeping the curiosity alive.

While Area 51 has been surrounded by myths of alien visits, its actual history is more terrestrial. The site has been a testing ground for experimental military aircraft, like the U-2 spy plane, used during the Cold War to gather intelligence on the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba.

The intense secrecy of Area 51 has spawned countless UFO and alien theories, along with various media adaptations, but no public evidence has surfaced to support the notion that alien artifacts or remains are stored there.
