Biohacker who wants to ‘live forever’ boasts ‘never before seen’ score in bizarre testicle health update

Biohacker Bryan Johnson has shared yet another eyebrow-raising health update that’s left plenty of people wondering why it needed to be posted at all.

The 48-year-old behind Project Blueprint has become widely known for experiments designed to slow — and, in his view, potentially undo — the effects of aging.

‘reverse’

Johnson has previously suggested his goal is to:

‘live forever’

He has also claimed to have poured close to $2 million into various interventions intended to help him look and feel younger.

Ahead of this latest post, Johnson drew attention online for sharing a vaginal microbiome report belonging to someone else.

“This is her vaginal microbiome report. 100/100 score.”

Now, he’s turned the spotlight back onto himself with a new testicle-related update — and a cautionary message aimed at other men.

In a lengthy statement, Johnson declared:

“I HAVE NO MICROPLASTICS IN MY BALLS,”

He went on to argue that such a result:

“should not be possible”

He then made a broader claim about research into microplastics and male fertility:

“Studies show that 100% of men have microplastics in their semen. I am the first human ever to show a complete reduction to zero,”

Microplastics are minuscule fragments of plastic that contaminate the environment and have been detected in many parts of the human body, including organs and tissue, according to the National Library of Medicine.

Johnson says his own results no longer show any in semen. He stated that around 18 months ago he measured 165 microplastic particles, and that the number has since dropped to zero.

“This may be a world-first breakthrough in fertility research,”

He also referenced existing papers that have looked for microplastics in semen, noting:

“Two of which have found semen in 100% of men.

Johnson added:

“Microplastics hurt sperm,”

He then described research into the ways plastics, plastic-linked chemicals, and other toxins may affect fertility, including potential changes to sperm shape, movement, and overall count.

The 48-year-old also emphasized that, in his view, the issue matters beyond just those who are trying to become parents.

“Sperm count is one of the cleanest biomarkers of overall health we have. And microplastics don’t stop at the testes,”

He continued by pointing to findings that suggest microplastics can show up throughout the body, and cited higher rates of serious cardiovascular outcomes in people who have microplastics in arterial plaque. He also wrote that microplastics have been detected in every tested human placenta.

“The same particles are showing up everywhere we look. Studies show a 4.5x higher rate of heart attack, stroke, and death in people with microplastics in their arterial plaque vs. those without. Microplastics were also found in 100% of human placentas tested,”

While he acknowledged limits to what can be concluded — saying he could not:

‘prove cause’

— because it wasn’t a:

‘control trial,’

Johnson said he made several lifestyle and household changes, including frequent sauna use, switching to a reverse osmosis water filter, and removing plastic items from his surroundings.

Those changes, he said, included getting rid of everyday objects such as cutting boards, drinkware, plates, food containers, non-stick cookware, and other items.

He explained that he started multiple changes at once, so he can’t say which mattered most — but he ended by stressing the outcome he believes speaks for itself:

“I did all three interventions at the same time. I cannot say which one did the most work. What I can say is this: going from 165 to zero in 18 months is possible,”

He also shared a graph of his test results.

Could he actually be onto something?

Either way, Johnson’s reproductive-health content isn’t new. He has repeatedly documented experiments focused on sexual function, saying he’s aiming to restore his:

’22-year-old penis’.

Over time, he has appeared to try a wide mix of tests and procedures — from semen testing and blood-flow measurements to Botox injections and shock wave therapy.

He has also claimed that this routine helped him reduce his:

‘erection age’

And while he tracks his own:

‘erection data’,

he has also drawn criticism for publicly comparing those numbers to data he says comes from his 19-year-old son.

Johnson also went viral in 2023 after describing a procedure involving himself, his son (who was 17 at the time), and his 70-year-old father, which he called:

‘the world’s first multigenerational plasma exchange’.

According to his description, the process involved removing around a litre of his blood, separating out the plasma, and then infusing the same amount of his son’s plasma into his own body.

Later, he said he saw:

‘no benefits’,

and announced:

“no longer injecting my son’s blood”.

In place of that approach, he said he had:

‘upgraded’

to:

‘total plasma exchange’.

More recently, he has also posted about drug use. Last year, he documented a trip after taking 5g of magic mushrooms and later said he was:

‘happy to be alive’,

adding that the experience had:

‘changed’

him — though:

‘probably not as you’d expect’.

Johnson has also described taking 27mg of the hallucinogen 5-MeO-DMT, saying it left him:

‘stunned beyond comprehension’.

In another recent post, Johnson laid out what his mornings currently look like, claiming the routine takes four hours and 46 minutes.

“My morning routine is always evolving as we update protocols. This is what I’m experimenting with right now,”

he writes on his website.
