Jelly Roll has responded publicly after reports emerged that he filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo, stressing that their split was not driven by betrayal or hostility.
Fans were stunned when court documents showed the 41-year-old “Save Me” singer had filed to end his marriage to the Dumb Blonde host after nearly 10 years together. The filing listed a separation date of May 9, 2026, and cited irreconcilable differences.
As speculation quickly spread online, the artist, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, used Instagram to address the situation directly and push back against the rumors surrounding the breakup.
In a candid message shared on his stories, he echoed comments Bunnie had already made and firmly denied claims that cheating played any role in their separation.
“I wanted to jump on here and address the elephant in the room,” Jelly Roll began. “First and foremost, nobody cheated on anybody. Please stop with the crazy internet rumors. Bunnie and I love each other deeply, and that will never change.”
He also referred to Bunnie’s recent podcast episode, saying he was proud of the way they chose to deal with such a personal and painful moment in public. Bunnie addressed the split on a June 18 episode of Dumb Blonde, where she said the breakup had been kept private for weeks before the news became public.
“If you listened to the Dumb Blonde podcast today, you know how real and honest Bunnie always is,” he wrote. “We sat down like adults, we talked through our stuff, and we actually settled everything amicably in a matter of two weeks.”
Although celebrity divorces often drag on for months, Jelly Roll said the focus for both of them was preserving the bond they still share.

He said the life they created together goes far beyond their marriage, pointing in particular to the family unit they formed over the years, including his children Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy, whom Bunnie helped raise.
“We built an empire together, but more importantly, we built a family,” Jelly Roll explained, referencing his children Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy, whom Bunnie helped raise. “She has been my rock for nine years, and she is a phenomenal mother and person.”
Jelly Roll also addressed one of the more surprising details to come out of the breakup: Bunnie’s revelation that they still intend to continue their IVF and surrogacy plans in hopes of having a child together.
He did not go into detail about the next steps in that process, but his statement suggested they remain aligned on the future they had been planning, despite the end of their marriage.

He ended the post with a message that made clear the depth of his feelings for Bunnie has not faded, even if their relationship is taking on a different form.
“Bunnie will always be my soulmate forever, even if our roles in each other’s lives look a little different now,” he concluded. “Please treat her with the utmost respect and kindness as we navigate this next chapter. Music Man out.”
