Anne Hathaway has announced that she is expecting her third child.
The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada star revealed the happy news in a short Instagram video on June 19, showing off her growing baby bump in a linen co-ord.
At first, she kept her stomach covered before lowering her arms to reveal her bump.
She then cradled it and skipped off in the video.
“Baby, I’m yours.”
This will be her third child with husband Adam Shulman, whom she married in September 2012. The couple already have two sons together: Jonathan, who was born in 2016, and Jack, who arrived in 2019.
Hathaway, 43, was quickly met with warm messages from fans and famous friends alike after sharing the announcement.
Suki Waterhouse, who is engaged to Robert Pattinson, was among those to comment.
“So happy for you.”
Many others also responded to the post with red heart emojis.
Hathaway has previously spoken candidly about her fertility journey, including suffering a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with her eldest son, Jonathan.
When she announced her second pregnancy in 2019, she also addressed others going through similar experiences. Hathaway wrote at the time, as reported by The Independent:
“It’s not for a movie… All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”
She later reflected on that announcement during a 2024 interview with Vanity Fair. The The Odyssey star explained:
“Given the pain I felt while trying to get pregnant, it would’ve felt disingenuous to post something all the way happy when I know the story is much more nuanced than that for everyone.”
The pregnancy update comes during a busy stretch for Hathaway, who has several major projects lined up in 2026, including high-profile film releases and a return to some of her best-known roles.
