Nicole Kidman marked Father’s Day with a public message that included a nod to ex-husband Keith Urban, nearly six months after their divorce was finalized.
The pair announced in late September 2025 that they had decided to end their marriage after 19 years together. Their divorce was finalized in Nashville on January 6, 2026.
They married in 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Court documents filed as part of the split cited “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup. The settlement also set out a parenting plan that named Kidman as the primary residential parent and waived child and spousal support for both sides.
Over the weekend, as Father’s Day was observed in the US on June 21, Kidman shared a tribute on Instagram Stories.
She posted two black-and-white images to her Instagram Story. One was an older photo of Urban with their daughters when they were younger, showing him carrying them on his back.

Alongside it, Kidman wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers.”
She also shared a childhood picture of herself with her father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who died in 2014.
Kidman turned 59 on June 20, and Urban publicly acknowledged the occasion with a message of his own on Instagram Stories, writing: “Happy birthday Nicole Mary!”
After losing her mother, Janelle Kidman, in 2024, the actress reflected on grief in an interview with GQ, saying: “Life is, whew. It’s definitely a journey. And it hits you as you get older.
“If you’re in it and not numbing yourself to it. And I’m in it. Fully in it.”
This is not the only time Kidman has addressed life after the divorce.

When Variety asked whether she was doing ‘all right since her separation’, Kidman replied: “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that.”
Still, she made clear that she did not want to discuss the breakup in depth.
Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be,” she said.
The weekend also marked Kidman’s 59th birthday, and Urban publicly acknowledged the occasion with a message of his own.
On his Instagram Stories, the 58-year-old wrote: “Happy birthday Nicole Mary!”
