Hilary Duff Sparkles With Bedazzled Eyebrows in Dreamy Paper Magazine Photo Shoot

Hilary Duff, 39, is embracing bedazzled brows for Paper magazine.

The “Lizzie McGuire” alum appears in a new Y2K-themed spread published Monday, sporting jewel-encrusted eyebrows across multiple shots. In one image, she laughs with arms thrown wide, colorful gems lining her brows while wearing a strapless black minidress. Another features pink rhinestones on her brows paired with pink flower jewels woven through her hair.

For the cover, Duff wears a purple lacy minidress, chunky black platform heels and stacks of beaded bracelets.

The look taps directly into the era that made her famous. Her Disney Channel series “Lizzie McGuire” ran from 2001 to 2004, launching both her acting and music careers. The “So Yesterday” singer remains closely associated with that millennial moment, and her fans have responded by reviving their own Y2K wardrobes for her current concert run.

In a Q&A with Paper, Duff addressed the throwback fashion appearing in her audiences.

“I don’t think I could wear skin-tight low-rise jeans like I used to, but a baggy low-rise jean, I’m super into,” she said. “And I kind of like that the fashion choices don’t always make sense. It has this air of, we don’t care and we’re cool.”

The mother of four noted that her relationship with style has shifted dramatically since her teen stardom.

“But the pressure is gone, which is nice,” she explained. “Seeing kids dressed like that makes me so happy, because it takes me back, but I don’t actually want to be 17. I don’t even want to be 25.”

She even poked fun at one particular trend she once favored. “I’m gonna have to find a shawl that doesn’t remind me of the ones I wore,” she quipped, adding that she has “PTSD from how many shawls” she wore back in the day.

The photoshoot arrives mid-run on Duff’s “The Lucky Me” World Tour, where she has been deliberately resurrecting pieces of her past. In August, she reunited with ex Joel Madden onstage at her New York City show for a duet, two decades after their split ended. Later that same month at her Philadelphia concert, she paid tribute to another former flame, the late Aaron Carter, by wearing a vintage T-shirt featuring him during her performance.

Duff and Carter dated in 2000 when both were 13 years old, remaining together on and off for three years. Their relationship ended permanently following a highly publicized love triangle involving Lindsay Lohan.

The tour has become a vehicle for both musical nostalgia and personal reflection, with Duff revisiting the era that defined her public image while maintaining distance from its pressures. Her Paper magazine spread extends that same tension—celebrating Y2K aesthetics without fully surrendering to them.

The “A Cinderella Story” star’s current era marks a different kind of metamorphosis than her 2003 album of the same name. Where that record captured a teenager becoming a pop star, her present moment finds her selectively curating which parts of that identity to carry forward.

Duff’s world tour continues with scheduled stops ahead.
