Kai Trump Reveals the Two Simple Foods and Workout Behind Her Six Pack Abs

Kai Trump, the granddaughter of Donald Trump, has shared the key habit she says helped her build washboard abs as she prepares for her college golf career at the University of Miami.

The 19-year-old is set to compete for the Hurricanes women’s golf team as a freshman in the 2026-27 season after signing with the program following a standout run on the junior circuit.

Golf has long been a big part of her life, and she has regularly shown off her time on the course. Growing up around the game has only added to that, especially with her family’s strong connection to the sport.

So while some people may be surprised by how seriously she takes training, it is far from a sudden change.

Now, she has opened up about the approach that helped her get leaner and stronger while preparing to return to competition after wrist surgery earlier this year.

During a recent appearance on Fox News, Kai explained that she was working against the clock after wrist surgery forced her away from golf in January.

“I literally told them, ‘I have seven months before I return to golf, we’re getting a six-pack.'”

Her comments suggested the process was much more straightforward than many might expect from an athlete training at a high level.

“I got a six-pack literally just by prioritizing the right foods and working out.”

She also said her mother, Vanessa, has had a strong influence on how she thinks about nutrition and recovery.

A big part of that routine comes down to what she chooses to eat each day.

Kai said she aims for 150 grams of protein daily while also avoiding gluten and dairy, and she has said she also skips eggs because of a slight allergy.

“Seeing how she eats and what she prioritizes… I kind of grew into that.”

She added that her eating habits are deliberately simple and consistent.

“I eat very clean and simple,” she said. “I would be totally fine eating steak for the rest of my life, or just chicken and rice, which is weird to some people, but I like it.”

Exercise, she said, is just as important for her mindset as it is for her physical conditioning.

“I play a lot of golf … and then work out. Nothing clears your head better than going to the gym and working out… Even if you’re not lifting heavy or if you’re just walking on the treadmill, being active clears your head and helps your mental health,” she shared with the hosts.

Her performances in junior golf have already brought some notable results, including runner-up honors at the 2025 Major Championship at Village Golf Course and the 2024 Martin County Junior Open, as well as a third-place finish at Lost City Golf Club.

She also competed in an LPGA event, though she did not make the cut for the Annika tournament in November.

Kai has previously said that when it comes to competition, she sees a clear family resemblance in herself.

“My mom’s competitive too, but definitely, grandpa is very competitive,” she told FOX.

Even so, she has made it clear that her future plans do not involve entering the political world.

“No politics ever?” the hosts asked her.

“No, never for me,” she said.
