ZZ Top’s concert with Cheap Trick at the Hollywood Bowl slated for Wednesday, August 5, has been cancelled

The cancellation was announced on Monday, August 4, about 24 hours before the show was set to take place
.
This follows ZZ Top’s canceled date earlier that day at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California
.
“The ZZ Top tour has unforeseen personnel matters that have forced the band to cancel its appearance at the Los Angeles landmark,” the band’s spokesman said
.
When contacted by Parade, the band’s spokesman said he had nothing further to add

Band frontman Billy Gibbons offered his own statement: “Insurmountable obstacles require canceling our Hollywood Bowl performance. Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption.”
Gibbons cited a “brief interruption” to the band’s current tour after saying refunds would be made, meaning the appearance will not be rescheduled
.
All tickets, including transportation and parking passes, will be automatically refunded to the original payment method, with no action needed for fans to receive their refund
.
Refunds are expected to be processed within five to seven business days
