A 30-year-old Brooklyn man was shot multiple times and died early Sunday near Canarsie Pier after officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting around 3:14 a.m. in the area of Belt Parkway and Rockaway Parkway.
The victim was identified as John Garvin, 30, of Brooklyn.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, and EMS transported the victim to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the source article provided, Garvin lived about a half mile away from where he was killed.
Police believe some kind of dispute preceded the shooting.
