Christina Pazsitzky Quietly Filed to Divorce Tom Segura Months Before Their Split Went Public

Christina Pazsitzky filed for divorce from Tom Segura in May, months before news of their split became public.

Pazsitzky, 50, known professionally as Christina P., submitted the paperwork in Texas, according to documents reported Thursday. Segura, 47, and Pazsitzky then filed court documents to seal the case just days later, keeping the proceedings private through the summer.

News of the separation did not surface until July, when sources confirmed the comedians had been living apart for several months after 18 years of marriage. At that time, sources described the breakup as “completely amicable,” noting the pair remained devoted to co-parenting their two sons, Ellis, 10, and Julian, 8.

Pazsitzky first broke her silence on the split in an Instagram Story post on July 18, addressing fans of their podcast as “Mommies,” She wrote, “Thank you for all the kind messages. This is a really difficult time for our family.” She explained that episodes of “Your Mom’s House” were prerecorded in advance, which was why listeners had not yet heard about the breakup on the show. She finished, “Just know your mommy loves you and will see you very soon.”

Weeks later, Pazsitzky addressed the divorce more directly on the podcast itself, fighting back tears as she spoke to listeners. She revealed that she and Segura had spent “several, several years” trying to save their marriage for the sake of their children and family, but ultimately could not make it work. Looking back on their two decades together, she reflected on their journey from “two broke comics living in Silver Lake” to building YMH Studios, launching their comedy careers, and raising a family. She assured fans, “We’re cool, dude,” stressing that their children remained the priority.

Segura responded on a subsequent episode published August 12, pushing back against the narrative that he had forced Pazsitzky to address their breakup alone. He called the separation a “horrible experience” and an emotional rollercoaster, explaining that they had been filming “Your Mom’s House” separately for months because the split was not new to them.

News of the separation first broke on July 13, stunning fans who had followed the couple’s candid discussions about marriage and family on their podcast for over a decade. The pair, who wed in 2008, had built one of comedy’s most successful podcast networks, YMH Studios, which launched in 2025 and boasts more than 1.8 million YouTube subscribers. Segura’s Netflix series “Bad Thoughts” recently earned two 2026 Emmy nominations, while Pazsitzky has released two Netflix comedy specials and launched her own cosmetics brand, Christina P. Cosmetics.

Despite the end of their marriage, both have committed to continuing “Your Mom’s House,” now in its 16th year. A source close to the former couple told the outlet at the time of the initial news, “They had a special and productive relationship, creating one of the most successful comedy podcast networks in the industry and, more importantly, two kids. They are taking different paths moving forward while remaining devoted to their children.”

Segura is scheduled to perform stand-up in Austin, Texas, later this month.
