Burning Man organizers are offering $550 tickets bundled with bus travel from Reno or San Francisco.
The limited-time Burner Express Bus promotion targets budget-conscious attendees willing to ditch their cars for the weeklong festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. Those who purchase a Burner Express Bus ticket from either city can snag the discounted $550 admission to Black Rock City, a significant cut from the standard pricing tiers.
“We know that the decision to participate in Black Rock City can happen at the last minute, so we’re making a limited number of $550 lower-priced ‘Get the Gift’ tickets available to participants traveling to BRC as part of a Burner Express Bus (BXB) bundle,” a Burning Man spokesperson told SFGate.
“The BXB program makes it easier and more affordable to get to Black Rock City, while helping reduce the environmental impact of travel — easing traffic and decreasing the number of vehicles on the roads.”
The spokesperson added that the bundle “will end when the small supply to fill two additional buses sells out.”
The $550 price point marks the lowest tier in Burning Man’s sliding scale system, which organizers instituted last year to have wealthier burners subsidize lower ticket prices. The same structure returns for 2026, with options spanning from $550 up to $3,000.
“When you purchase a higher-priced ticket, YOU are: helping more people experience the magic of Burning Man, funding Honoraria art grants, and underwriting Black Rock City operational costs,” organizers wrote on the official website.
Burning Man Project CEO Marian Goodell emphasized the collective nature of the event in an earlier press release. “Black Rock City is a place people build together—through art, generosity, and shared effort,” Goodell said. “Its ephemerality is part of what makes it powerful. You can’t come later—you have to show up and be part of it.”
The tiered model offers several entry points. Attendees who select “Give the Gift” can purchase tickets at $975, $1,500, or $3,000. The mid-level “Pay Your Way” tier sits at $775. All tickets provide identical access to the event regardless of price paid.
For those facing genuine financial hardship, the Ticket Aid Program offers $250 tickets through an application process requiring documentation of limited income. The Resilience Program also provides $550 tickets for participants severely impacted by natural disasters or geopolitical conflict.
The BXB ticket bundle goes on sale August 19 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, just days before the event’s August 30 opening.

The 2026 theme “Axis Mundi” celebrates “interconnectedness, shared social realities, and our ties to the natural world,” culminating in the traditional Saturday night burn of the giant Man sculpture before the entire city vanishes.
This year’s event runs from August 30 to September 7.
