Jiang Xueqin has laid out five grim forecasts for 2027 in a new podcast appearance.
The Chinese-Canadian educator and presenter, who has been dubbed “China’s Nostradamus” after past political predictions, shared his outlook on the Jack Neal podcast as the U.S. Approaches the 2026 midterm elections. Jiang, who correctly predicted Donald Trump’s return to the presidency in May 2024, now sees a turbulent path ahead for the country.
On the midterms scheduled for this November, Jiang told Neal he was hedging his bets. “I’m not saying they’ll be canceled, but what I’m saying is that right now, Donald Trump and the Republicans are trying to pass something called the Save America Act,” he said. He added that the electoral outcome may prove almost irrelevant to the larger direction of events. “It’s almost insignificant how the midterms turn out because it’s possible the Republicans stay, they maintain the House and the Senate. In which case Donald Trump continues his war.”
Jiang predicted surprises ahead that “will not be the way people expect it to work out.” He also said that whatever happens at the ballot box “won’t change the trajectory of the war” as it’s “already set.”
The forecast darkens considerably when Jiang turns to military matters. On his website Predictive History, one prediction marked as “unfolding” in 2026-2027 states: “The United States will use ground troops in Iran, requiring a national military draft. Men as young as 18 will be conscripted.” Expanding on this in the podcast, Jiang said that by 2027 the “framework” for a national draft would already exist. “It is possible they’ve already passed legislation to create the national draft, or it’s possible that certain people have already been drafted,” he told Neal.
Jiang’s prior predictive record includes his May 2024 call that Trump would win a second term, which came to pass. He also predicted that “there will be a very strong likelihood that the United States will go to war with Iran,” adding at the time that there was “absolutely no way” the United States would win such a conflict.
The educator foresees domestic turmoil accompanying any foreign military entanglement. He predicts that by next year, “all the ingredients for a civil war will already be in place.” He was quick to clarify the scale of violence he envisions. “I don’t mean actually two militaries fighting each other, but I’m saying like nationwide discontent and riots and protests and insurgencies,” he said, characterizing it as “low level conflict.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement figures prominently in Jiang’s scenario. He predicts the agency will grow more powerful and wants to deploy “National Guard in all major cities” as preparation for economic collapse and the national draft.
The economic thread runs through every prediction. Jiang tied the draft and war directly to fiscal catastrophe. “If America goes into Iran with ground troops, if it’s committed for 4 or 5 years, if America loses this war, it means the collapse of the American economy,” he said. He added that by the time civil unrest peaks, “the global economy should have collapsed.”
Jiang has previously predicted Trump’s presidency and a U.S.-Iran war, though the latter conflict has not yet materialized as he described.
Jiang’s predictions for 2027 will begin facing their first test within months as the November midterms approach.
