Beth Stern is thrilled her husband is cutting back to one show a week.
The model, 52, said Thursday that Howard Stern’s new HBO Max deal means “more Howard at home” for her. “Oh my gosh, it’s such a wonderful [decision]. Go Howard!” she gushed when asked about the shock jockey’s big move. “It’s actually great for me because he’s now only going to start working one day a week,” she explained. “So I get more Howard at home. And he gets to still be connected to the world. So it’s a win-win for all of us.”
The couple plans to stay in the Hamptons full time thanks to the more accommodating schedule, Beth confirmed to the outlet. Last month, they made a rare appearance at John Mayer’s SiriusXM performance at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York.
SiriusXM announced the HBO Max partnership in an Aug. 31 press release to the outlet. “For the first time, the ‘King of All Media’ will bring his signature, long-running SiriusXM show to HBO Max by adapting his live SiriusXM show into a streamable episode for HBO Max, along with periodic extras,” the release stated.
The comedian’s show, which debuted on Sirius in 2006, will kick off on HBO Max on Sept. 17, with new episodes releasing every Thursday. “Howard’s new series on HBO Max takes him to the pinnacle of prestige television and gives his fans a long-desired ‘seat in the studio’ to see what they just heard,” the release continued.
Howard, 77, struck the lucrative deal last month. “Stern will be doing the live shows strictly on Mondays,” a source said at the time. “That’s why he isn’t starting this year on the Tuesday after Labor Day like he usually does.” The insider added, “This is a very strict schedule for him to be able to use that show’s video for HBO Max.”
His SiriusXM show returns for a new season on Sept. 14, with episodes available to stream on HBO Max for the first time.
The deal follows significant cutbacks to Howard’s SiriusXM empire. The outlet exclusively reported that his show laid off about 12 staffers as it dropped to a single show per week. His Howard 101 SiriusXM channel was also eliminated, with the slot handed over to Andy Cohen. “Howard 101 [will] leave the lineup,” the duo announced in a press release, and Cohen’s show will move from 101 to 102.
Additionally, Michael Rapaport announced earlier this month that the “Howard Stern Show” fantasy football league is now “defunct.”
Beth had already hinted at the positive changes on Cohen’s Sirius show, sharing, “I think his new schedule is working out really well for him.”
The reduced workload stems from a three-year contract Howard signed with SiriusXM back in December 2025. “I am happy to announce that I have figured out a way to have it all,” he told his listeners at the time. “More free time and continuing to be on the radio.”
His previous five-year contract with the network was worth a reported $500 million, earning him roughly $8,000 per minute.
Howard’s new HBO Max episodes begin streaming Sept. 17.
