Kim Kardashian’s $148 SKIMS advent calendar is drawing fierce backlash from buyers who say the product is overpriced “junk.”
The Accessories Advent Calendar, which has sold out and moved to a waitlist, was unboxed in a TikTok video that has since racked up more than 45 million views. In the clip, the creator grows visibly angry as she reveals the twelve days of contents.
“Kimberly, you’re genuinely about to piss me off,” she said in the video. “This is way too expensive.”
The items inside included SKIMS-branded keychains, silk hair ties, hair pins, a SKIMS squishy, and Christmas ornaments. Social media users flooded the comments with similar outrage over the price point and quality.

One commenter claimed the calendar “should be lawsuit-worthy, and I’m not joking.” Another fired back, “$150 is WILD for maaaaybe $20 worth of stuff.” A third added that the items were “basically everything that falls between my car seats.”
The complaints kept coming. One user said it looked like they were “cleaning out Kim’s nightstand,” while another wrote that they “played in your face, girl, but you just saved so many people money.” Yet another branded the contents “Temu junk.”

Kardashian, 46, launched SKIMS in 2019, and the brand has repeatedly landed in online controversies. Last year, the company raised eyebrows with its “Ultimate Bush” collection, featuring thongs with faux hair in various textures and tones attached to the front.
One social media user joked they were “calling 911” about that launch. Another wrote, “I just googled the date to make sure it’s not April 1.”

In 2024, Kardashian also faced criticism for making what some called a “mockery” of religion after posing half-naked while wearing a rosary for a SKIMS collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana.

“I don’t feel right with a rosary 📿 and this type of photo shoot ☹️,” one social media user wrote at the time.
Another added, “Nothing about you is holy,” urging Kardashian to “take the rosaries off.”

The advent calendar controversy marks the latest round of scrutiny for the reality star’s brand, which has built a billion-dollar business on shapewear and loungewear before expanding into accessories and novelty items.

The TikTok unboxing has clearly struck a nerve with consumers already skeptical of celebrity-marketed products. While the calendar’s sold-out status suggests strong initial demand, the viral backlash may give waitlisted buyers second thoughts.

Representatives for Kardashian did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the advent calendar criticism.

Kardashian continues to expand the SKIMS empire with new collections and collaborations scheduled through the holiday season.
