Man identified after waving Palestinian flag and charging onto Yankee Stadium field on 9/11 anniversary

Kelly Marcucci, 38, of Long Island, has been identified as the man who sprinted onto the field at Yankee Stadium during the 9/11 anniversary Subway Series game while waving a Palestinian flag.

The stunt occurred in the seventh inning of the Yankees-Mets matchup in The Bronx last Friday at exactly 9:11 p.m., according to police and video footage. Marcucci allegedly jumped from the stands onto the field before security tackled him in centerfield. Fans in the stadium responded with chants of “USA!” as he was brought down on the grass.

Marcucci is facing misdemeanor charges for interference with a professional sporting event and trespassing, the NYPD said.

Hours before the incident, around 4:30 p.m., Marcucci posted a rambling rant on Facebook touching on capitalism, Zionism, Saudi Arabia and 9/11, while mentioning President Trump and Joe Rogan. He also shared a brief video of himself at the game from the stands, showing off his personalized “K. Marcucci” jersey. The front of the shirt reads “No Kings,” a widespread anti-Trump sentiment.

On his Instagram account, which links to an inactive OnlyFans profile, Marcucci described himself as a journalist and “spiritual tactician.” His OnlyFans bio stated: “Politically, I identify as a revisionist-Marxist, and the core values of this expression are very important to me.” He claimed to have made the page “as a joke.”

The social media account is filled with conspiracy theories, posts about Jeffrey Epstein and reposted videos from political commentators including Candace Owens. In one post, Marcucci appeared to spiritually analyze Andrew Cuomo and Zohran Mamdani ahead of the 2025 mayoral election.

“It’s not just about left vs right. It’s not just about two candidates. It’s about what kind of energy is being installed over New York City,” he wrote in the caption.

Marcucci graduated from Stony Brook University, according to his social media accounts. He and representatives for both the Mets and Yankees did not immediately return requests for comment.

The game carried special weight as the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Married couple Brielle Saracini and Sean McGuire, who both lost their fathers in the attacks, threw the ceremonial first pitches. The pair met at a camp for children whose parents were killed on 9/11.

Saracini shares a bond with Yankees legend Derek Jeter, who was also present. After her father, Victor Saracini, a pilot of one of the hijacked flights, was killed, the then-10-year-old wrote a letter to Jeter. He invited her to the stadium to meet the team.

“When we invited her to the stadium, you really don’t know what to say,” Jeter said during a news conference.

“So I don’t even know if I said ‘I’m sorry’ or anything like that. I just tried to make her day feel special…and you just try to make her feel as comfortable as you possibly can.”
